"This negativity just makes me stronger. We will not retreat, this band is unstoppable!"
-- Cliff, lead singer, Citizen Dick (from the 1992 movie Singles)
Yeah, that's right. Get used to it. For those of us in Patriots Nation, its us against the world. If you saw the Pats/Colts game Sunday night (the entire world did), you have to be asking yourself the same question - did Roger Goddell tell the refs their jobs depended on a Colts victory?
Seriously, the Pats were flagged for a franchise record 120 yards in penalties while every single questionable call seemed to go the Colts way. I've been watching football for 25 years and I never saw anything remotely close. It was an ominous sign that the Pats can count on some serious obstacles on their road to a the Glendale. The most aggregious was the flag on Ellis Hobbs when he was tackled by Reggie Wayne trying to make a play on the ball. I know we all saw the interference, so the flag was no surprise. But when the call went against Hobbs, to borrow a line from Clark Griswold, I couldn't of been more shocked if I woke up with my head sewn to the carpet.
I'm putting the call out to Patriots nation, let the NFL, the Fuhrer Goddell, and the rest of the World know that they are on notice. We're going to expose them. It's one thing to have the haters out there rooting against the boys in blue, but when the pillars of equity and justice dressed in zebra stripes start throwing games (what is this, the NBA?) you know the NFL is in trouble.
